Kudos from Kara L. Rooney: In the tradition of landscape painting, this work stands out for its art historical references to mid-twentieth century American realism, albeit with a twist: the mountain depicted is located in north-eastern Corfu, not the continental U.S. Its scenery is unadorned and humble, true to the region it depicts, while the artist’s application of touch denotes a sensitivity to the painting’s subject matter and its surrounding environs.
